Ok I actually did a scrapbook page-I really think its been at least a year since I did a layout. I had taken lots of pictures of my family when we were in Hawaii for Christmas last year since it was all my brothers and sisters and their darling little families. This paper collection by Teresa Collins Designs worked so well with both the black/white and color photos. I sprayed the seam binding ribbon with the Gold Lame Color Shine from Heidi Swapp and used it on the tag where all the journaling is. I made a pocket on the back of the photo to hold the tag. I even used my Silhouette Cameo, which has been sitting on my desk for almost a year. I ran the diecut title through my Xyron as there was no way I could have gotten adhesive on all the little parts. Cardstock is all Bazzill but next time I will remember to only cut once not double as I cut through the mat. Oh well! C’est la vie!
Here is my new planner for 2012.
Although, I don’t drink coffee I had been seeing all kinds of crafts and home decor pieces done with natural color coffee filters-they also work great with products such as Glimmer Mist as they don’t fall apart like tissue paper does. I created the flowers using Melitta coffee filters and stamps. I again used my trusty blue and grey Xyron 900 as I have problems getting adhesive close to the edges of my paper when I cover chipboard (maybe because I can’t use tape runner type adhesives in a straight line)-I have used Xyron adhesives since I started creating projects in the papercraft industry over 10 years ago but I didn’t use them for everything as I tried to make the refills last as long as possible.
I have been debating whether to do a December Daily or Journal your Christmas book this year, so I decided to compromise and combine the two and create my own Christmas Countdown book. I had honestly forgotten how much I love my Xyron since I has having problems getting the paper to stay down and get adhesive on the back of the doily.
